SEPA enables consumers to execute and to receive transactions in EURO all over Europe within the participating countries via one single account using unitary payment instruments like inland transactions. Hence the difference between national and cross-border payments does not exist anymore and this provides you safe and comfortable payment methods for the cross-border payment of for instance order of goods via internet.

Since the 1st July 2008 the "Zahlungsanweisung" shall be used for commissioning at Austrian financial institutes for inland payments and the entire SEPA-area. Other receipts are unprovided for this functionality.

Bank accounts in the EU are identified uniformly by IBAN and BIC to allow automation of international payments. We have created a help text for you to assist in filling out a "Zahlungsanweisung" correctly.

The appearance of the slip had to be changed somewhat in order to provide space for all the relevant data necessary for a simple, fast and secure payment. By considering a few points,  pdf filling out the "Zahlungsanweisung" (only in German) (253 KB) is still easy.

When completing the payment instructions the following points should be noted:

• Please always start filling out the account information from the left side of each field – the remaining spaces are left blank.
• When writing the amount, please observe the spaces and note the specified comma.
• If you fill out the slip by hand, please use block capitals and write exactly one character per space.
• The field "Verwendungszweck" provides a handwritten space of 2 x 35 characters.
• Use only a black or blue pen – please never write in red!
• Please sign only within the provided field.
